Bodyweight exercises are strength training exercises that use the individual's own weight to provide resistance against gravity. Your cardiovascular will be worked because you will be continuously moving during the main part of the workout.  Bodyweight exercises can enhance a range of abilities including strength, power, endurance, speed, flexibility, coordination and balance.  Bodyweight training utilises simple abilities such as pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, twisting and balancing.

With the combination of cardio and strength training exercises using only your own body weight you will benefit from increased muscle mass, mobility, bone density, will have improved sleep habits and decrease depression.  Bodyweight exercises can also help with decreasing cognitive decline as people age.  Exercises focusing on the legs and abdomen like squats, lunges, step ups will increase the leg and core strength which will reduce the risk of falling because your balance, coordination, cardio and strength will all improve and the multi directional exercises practiced does relate to your daily movements.
